300-500ml of beetroot juice, containing approximately 5-8mmol of nitrates (NO3), has been shown to increase time to task failure, increase power output, and red
uce oxygen cost at low and high intensity exercise!

Bailey et al. (2010) took 7 male participants and had them supplement with 500ml of beetroot juice, containing 5.1mmol of nitrates or a placebo for 6 days. On the last three days the participants were asked to perform a series of low and high intensity step exercises, and one additional one to failure. It was shown that the group supplementing with BR used significantly less overall ATP (energy) than the placebo group. It is noteworthy that ATP from PCR splitting was significantly reduced during high intensity exercise. By sparring finite PCR stores at higher intensities we are able to tolerate longer durations of exercise at a given workload.
Another study conducted by Lansley, et al (2011) supplemented highly trained cyclists with 500ml of BR juice containing 8mmol of nitrates compared to a placebo, and had them complete a timed cycling trial. The study showed increases in both reduction in time to finish a 16km race and an increase in power output by 2.8% and 6% respectively.
When supplementing with BR juice it is best to use 300-500ml containing 5-8mmol of nitrates, or obtain a BR concentrate and supplement with 70-140ml. Lookout for a post next week exploring the health benefits of BR juice!

Pijem sok rdeče pese 2-3 dni pred tekmo po 0.5l pol pa še na dan tekme pred zajtrkom 2.5dcl. Zdej ne vem koliko je placebo ampak se mi zdi da pomaga. Sem pa zasledil, da naj bi preveč nitritov nižalo anaerobni prag, zato naj bi loading s nitriti delal samo za velike tekme.

Gym samo ena pripomba glede Adela. Piše vsekakor zanimiv blog, je vsekakor eden tistih ki upošteva več zadev hkrati in kontekst ter ne le eno študijo ki jo obdela kot nekateri drugi..To mi je zelo všeč. Samo vse jemlji le eno izmed kot info. Če bi bil v stiku z njim bi videl da nima kaj dosti s prakso.

Kot vsako stvar, z distance.Slika Je pa tudi meni pri njegovih objavah to ok, da poišče kar se da študij.
Sicer pa na koncu moraš sam na sebi ugotoviti, kako stvari najbolje funkcionirajo. Tega pač ne najdeš v študijah.
