Teh 15g masla daš potem na vrh. Kaj pa tisto maslo na kateremu pečeš zelenjavo? Tisto ne šteješ?

Zanima me še koliko imaš obrokov dnevno.

In koliko je čez dan ostale aktivnosti poleg treningov. Si veliko na nogah/hoja ali bolj sedeče delo za računalnikom in knjigami?

5 obrokov + whey 15 g po treningu (1 do 2x odvisno od števila treningov)
Treniram vsaj enkrat na dan po 1 do 1,30. Drugič ali treniram ali pa grem na Rožnik. Vsaj trenutno.

Keto adaptacija

What this shows is that uric acid goes up promptly in the same time frame that ketones go up, but after 4-6 weeks, despite ketones staying up, uric acid starts to come back down. Based on these data and my clinical observations in thousands of patients, uric acid returns to or below pre-diet baseline within 6-12 weeks despite the person remaining is a state of nutritional ketosis. Thus, when I’m asked how long ketoadaptation aks, I generally respond that some aspects of it take 6 weeks or more.
This graph, by the way, shows blood uric acid levels from the untrained subjects (VT) and bicycle racers (MIT) at various times over 4-6 weeks of sustained carbohydrate restriction (aka keto-adaptation).

Studies of blood flow and oxygen consumption in the brain of food depreciated obese human subjects raveled values that were well below the normal levels... This data suggest an increase in the metabolic efficiency in human brains using ketoacides as their principal energy source in place of glucose..

Ketogena udarja ponovno.. bOHB beta hidroksibutriat... eden od treh ketonov in tisti ki se vzdigne v ketozi (drugi so konstatni)..

How Caloric Restriction Regulates DNA to Protect Against Oxidative Stress


In the field of science concerned with extending healthy lifespan, the one intervention given the most credit is caloric restriction. Though its benefit in humans has not been proven, and its effect in primates is controversial, reducing caloric intake has been shown to increase the lifespan of many laboratory animals.

When calories are scarce, cells in the body shift to metabolizing fat instead of glucose. When fatty acids are broken down for energy, ketones are produced, chief among them beta-hydroxybutyrate (bOHB).

Previous research has shown that ketone bodies activate a cell switch called Fox03a, which is known to regulate lifespan in a beneficial manner.

The current study looked at the effects of bOHB on oxidative stress and histones within cells.

They demonstrated that bOHB directly inhibits the class I histone deacetylase (HDAC). This was found to occur both if bOHB was added to cells or if the cells were calorically restricted. bOHB globally increased histone acetylation.

Histone acetylation was further shown to increase transcription of genes involved in protection against oxidative stress. Cells exposed to bOHB were more resistant to oxidative stressors applied to them. This is important because it is believed reactive oxygen species (ROS) generated by the mitochondria accelerate aging and are causative of many age-related diseases.

Thus ketone bodies may protect against aging by increasing acetylation of histones causing direct regulation of DNA transcription.


The authors conclude:

Our observation that bOHB is an endogenous HDAC inhibitor present in organisms at millimolar concentrations during prolonged fasting and CR reveals an example of integration between metabolic status and epigenetic changes.

Reduction in HDAC activity by either genetic manipulation or chemical inhibition extends life
span in Drosophila. Inhibition of HDACs by bOHB might contribute to the beneficial effect of ketogenic diets and may be one mechanism by which calorie restriction confers health benefits.

Ketone Bodies Found to Reduce Aging by Activating Foxo3a


It is a well recognized fact that caloric restriction extends lifespan in most species. There is a large body of evidence that this effect in part is mediated by reduced insulin/IGF-1 signaling due to low amounts of circulating glucose.
This hormone pathway shifts cellular processes away from growth and towards conservation, reducing chronological churn.

New research however sheds light on a new important mechanism that may play a role in caloric restriction.

When glucose is in short supply, the body utilises fat stores for energy, transforming fatty acids into ketone bodies, which are then used for energy.

In the current research scientists examined a ketone body called beta hydroxybutyrate (βOHB). Though these molecules can be toxic in high doses, the study found that low doses appear to protect the cells against oxidative stress, a key mediator of aging and damage.

They performed a series of experiments using human cells in culture and mice tissue, adding βOHB to calorically restricted cells. They found that adding the ketone body blocked a class of enzymes called the histone deacetylases (HDAC).

HDAC, in turn normally keeps longevity gene FoxO3a inactivated. By blocking HDAC, Foxo3a and another ant-aging gene called mt2 were activated.

“This breakthrough also greatly advances our understanding of the underlying mechanism behind HDACs, which had already been known to be involved in aging and neurological disease,” said Gladstone Investigator Katerina Akassoglou, PhD, an expert in neurological diseases and one of the paper’s co-authors. “The findings could be relevant for a wide range of neurological conditions, such as Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, autism and traumatic brain injury — diseases that afflict millions and for which there are few treatment options.”

“Identifying βOHB as a link between caloric restriction and protection from oxidative stress opens up a variety of new avenues to researchers for combating disease,” said Tadahiro Shimazu, a Gladstone postdoctoral fellow and the paper’s lead author. “In the future, we will continue to explore the role of βOHB — especially how it affects the body’s other organs, such as the heart or brain — to confirm whether the compound’s protective effects can be applied throughout the body.”

še en tester.. 4 tedenski prehod iz mini ketoze (low carb..) v optimalno ketozo..

Summary

This is going well so far.
Weight loss without hunger, even down to being very lean. It’ll be interesting to see where my weight stabilises; I’m guessing, pretty soon.
An overwhelming sense of satiety, which is quite practical if you don’t have time to constantly be eating.
The exercise routine seems to be running smoothly now that I’m a few weeks in.
My mental focus feels at least as sharp as before.
On the downside, there’s sometimes been a pronounced diuretic effect, and ketosis breath once in a while. Hopefully, these will disappear w

Blood ketones are best measured on a fasted stomach in the morning (before breakfast, that is). Here are a few pointers on how to interpret the result:

Below 0.5 mmol/L is not considered “ketosis”. At this level, you’re far away from maximum fat-burning.

Between 0.5-1.5 mmol/L is light nutritional ketosis. You’ll be getting a good effect on your weight, but not optimal.

Around 1.5 – 3 mmol/L is what’s called optimal ketosis and is recommended for maximum weight loss.


Values of over 3 mmol/L aren’t neccessary. That is, they will achieve neither better nor worse results than being at the 1.5-3 level. Higher values can also sometimes mean that you’re not getting enough food. For type 1 diabetics, it can be caused by a severe lack of insulin, see below.
