When we hear the word fructose, we usually think fruit..
Yes, it does have fructose, but only certain fruits are high in it, while others are relatively low.
• The highest dietary sources of fructose are foods containing table sugar (sucrose), high-fructose corn syrup, agave nectar, honey, molasses, maple syrup, fruit and fruit juices.
• Aren't fruits supposed to be healthy?

Organic fruits are healthy and they provide you with fibres and some of vitamins and minerals that your body needs.
• In terms of fat loss however, although the glycemic index categorizes most fruits as low GI, the fructose is metabolized differently than the sugars from starches. Once liver glycogen stores are full, excess fructose is easily converted to triglycerides and body fat. So fruit is best when liver glycogen is low.
• If you have a lot of fructose in your diet, it only has one place to go: your liver. If your liver glycogen levels are full, then that excess of fructose is turned into fat!

Since your liver doesn't want to store this new fat, it ships it to other parts of your body; places you don't want it, like your abs or your butt.
- Fruits highest in fructose;
• apple
• banana
• cherries
• grapes
• mango
• orange
• pear
• pineapple
• watermelon
- Fruits lowest in fructose;
• Tomatoes and avocados (technically fruits)
• Lemons and limes
• Cantaloupe melon
• Raspberries, blackberries & strawberries
• Clementine
• Kiwi fruit
• Grapefruit

Don't eliminate (organic) fruits completely because some fruit will aid your overall health by fighting free-radical-induced aging and muscle damage. Just choose fruits lower in fructose.
• But when dieting, apples may keep the doctor away, but with their high fructose content, they'll keep your six-pack just as out of sight too.
